big brother wisdom.

The boys have found and taken over our old blackberries
(we are now iphone users),
Jonah took my old RED one
and Caleb took Ryan's BLACK one.

They can charge the batteries and play the games on them
(no service for calls, of course!)
and it helps keep them off our iphones :)

On the way to school today Tessa is asking about their phones,
and Jonah tells her very matter-of-fact:

"There are lots of different types of cell phones... Caleb has a blackberry and I have a redberry."

Gave Ryan and I a good chuckle :)

That is so cute! I'm sure they're quite excited. Do be aware that many cell phones will still place 911 calls even if they don't have paid service. We know from experience...

Kids never miss a beat! Sounds like my son AJ, he keeps me in stitches!
Cute story.

Well, Caleb... I suppose I really do have a BLACKBerry :)

(Erin, you should submit that to Parents magazine - on the last page, they print quotes like this - I love reading them!)

Please know that all cell phones will continue to dial 911 whether or not they have an active service. I cannot begin to tell you how much time is spent by dispatchers tracking down these calls, and police officers responding to verify there is not a true emergency.
