her priorities are straight.

Tessa played soccer saturday afternoon
(our team won 6-0!)
and then she cheered for her first football game ever,
for Jonah's team saturday evening.

I asked her if she had fun cheering.

She said yes.

I asked, which do you like better, soccer or cheering?

She said soccer.

Exactly.

:)

(I grew up a tomboy playing soccer and made fun of my cheer-leading friends, so having a daughter that wants to cheer is a little tough/weird for me. Couldn't tell her no, we felt she should get to try it, but praying she is a hard core soccer player as she gets older!

I have to admit that she looked pretty cute in the outfit though...)

What a cutie! I really want my future children to be soccer players too. It seems to instill a real dedication for healthy competition and a healthy lifestyle! My husband played soccer and absolutely loves it and I want him to coach - I don't know the first thing about it. I have a lot to learn! :D

Awww...cute picture! And, you are right to let her try different things now because in today's competitive world of sports they have to choose soon enough!

she is very cute in her outfit. i wish my parents had put me in dance..or that i learned to play soccer. my family is really big in soccer. my dad is 49 & still plays soccer weekly & coaches a league & all 4 of my brothers play. but i have always been the girly girl.. and was a band nerd! ha!

She is so cute! I also want my kids to try out lots of fun things and choose for themselves what they like to do best. I was a little cheerleader and liked it a lot, then grew up and really disliked the stereotype of cheer and wanted nothing to do with it until one day the cheer coach at my high school told me to try out because things were changing and we ended up winning a couple of trophies! Cheering was the best part of high school for me. Don't worry, cheerleading is a sport and can be just as competitive as soccer! I loved it :) PS my name is Tessa too! Great name ;)

I'm so glad to hear your daughter's priorities are straight. Whew! What a relief! (I'm with you on the cheerleading and have already laid down the law with my husband that our daughter is NOT cheerleading). It's bad enough that our daughter is drop dead gorgeous but she doesn't need the added attention from the opposite sex when she gets older. No, thank you! Your little girl looks adorable in the uniform nonetheless.

New follower from Lindsay's...Your lil' is precious! Love that she's a soccer player. My hubs and I want our 13 month old to play soccer one day too. She's such a outdoor rough and tumble baby, I just know she'd have fun and we'd enjoy watching! I am loving your blog and shop! If you ever want to team up for a giveaway int the future, let me know...I'd be honored!

I am with you on this one. I grew up loving sports. My daughter always wanted to do ballet (well since she was 2, she is 4 now). Last week, I let her pick two activities. She chose soccer/tball and gymnastics. I was happy with the choices. She has gymnastics tonight and soccer on Friday, we'll see how she does, but I look forward to the days of spending my weekends at their games!

So cute! I really wanted to be a cheerleader, I tried out in h.s. and made the first cut but not the second. I didn't play soccer until my 20's, when I played co-rec. I grew up riding horses and always kind of regret not playing a few organized school sports. I hope your daughter has a great season!

Thats too cute! I was a huge tomboy as well growing up and played soccer up until I had my first baby! However, my little girl loves all things girlie...she does pick up her fair share of bugs though...she is only 2 1/2 so we will see what she ends up doing. As of now I would have to say she is leaning more towards Dance! I will have to work on "molding" her ;)

What a sweetheart! Cheerleading is not that bad, but I can totally understand wanting your kids to do the things you are interested in! :-) Good luck with that!
