dad's day. [ a giveaway! ]

Over the years I have TRIED to give Ryan something sentimetal from the kids for Father's Day. Ryan loves pictures, and his office at work is full of pictures of our family! One of the first Father's Day presents was a picture cube that still sits on his desk...

(that's baby Caleb!)

A couple of years ago I took 5" x 7" pictures our our 3 kids (Eden wasn't born yet) each holding up a sign that they had made themselves spelling out "I heart Dad!" Then before I framed them the kids each wrote their name on the white matte- would also be neat to have them write a little note to Dad there!

Last year the individual picture thing was NOT working- Eden refused to hold up a sign long enough for me to snap a picture! Thankfully I had recently taken a picture of the kids with Ryan, and this time had the older 3 kids write a note on the white matte... (picture is an 8" x 10")

Ryan has these pictures up on a wall in his office :)

**********

We had a mother's day giveaway, so let's do one for Dad!

(We don't want him to feel left out, right? And if you win and decide to keep it, we promise not to tell.)

Let's giveaway a few $50 gift certificates to our website!

Simply tell us what you are getting your Dad or hubbie for Father's Day on sunday to enter.

Blog, tweet it (@thevintagepearl), facebook the contest for extra entries.

Hope all of the Dads have a fabulous Father's Day!

I'll be making my Husband a blanket from my little boy (2) and unborn boy! I am looking to get some photos printed on fabric for it, but I'm running out of time, so this year it might be plain!

I actually bought your leather cuff for my husband. It's his first father's day and I wanted it to be something he could keep forever. I was so excited that I gave it to him early and he loves it!

As much as I want to get my dad a sentimental gift for Father's day he voiced that he did not need or want anything. So, My only bro and only sis has decided to get the air conditioner fix on his Rav4 that he and mom uses when they are in thier vacation home if Florida. *shrug* He will appreciate that!

I bought your awesome keychain to commemorate my husband's first father's day as a dad of three, and then we ordered him an official Blackhawks jersey (I guess that gives away where I'm from, right? :) We're celebrating today since he's a firefighter and works the next two days, but we're also bringing up dinner/desserts for his whole station (all fathers) on Sunday with the other wives/kids. :)

I don't have a dad, but my husband is a phoenominal dad to our son and he's also a wonderful dog dad to our Lab.

This year I suck in the Father's Day department because I haven't planned anything, really. I did get him two tickets to the Lion's game (football) which just happens to fall on Father's Day so he and our son are going. (I have a commitment.)

Not sure if I will get home in time to cook something special or not, but then again, they may be too full of hotdogs and popcorn to care.

No brownie points for me this year.

For my husband, I purchased one of your thin leather bands that says "devoted". Your crew was wonderful and had it mailed out in time for him to receive it. My husband is currently deployed so it was really important (for me) to get it to him on time. He is even waiting until Sunday to open it! I even used the gift certificate I received from our Mother's Day purchase on my husband instead of me (which I am hoping he appreciates).

One day I'll have some jewelry from your shop to celebrate my children.

For my own father, it was really difficult trying to figure out what to get him. I had done a huge gift certificate to your shop for Mother's Day because it was my Mom to a tee. I always get frustrated that Mom's are more celebrated than Dad's so I was starting to get down about finding IT for my Dad. My Mom suggested a BNSF shirt because he really wants one, but I felt it would be coming from her and not me.

FINALLY yesterday, I found the perfect gift for my Dad. A Murder Mystery Dinner Train ride. I talked with my Mom and said my Dad would FLIP over this, but she was worried about cost. I did it anyway. It is PERFECT and I feel as though it is coming from ME to my Dad. I can't WAIT for Sunday!

Gretchen

Oh and I did put this up on Facebook yesterday, but I won't get specific on the chance my Dad sees it. (he is not likely to look on here as my Mom already purchased and has received her Mother's Day jewelry (which she LOVES by the way).

My Dad is a pretty hard guy to shop for. He doesn't really tell you anything that he would like. This year however he's gotten very into trying out new recipes, so I am going to get him a nice new frying pan that he has mentioned are really good. :)

My dad and I agree the best gift we give each other is time spent together.

I'm actually giving my husband one of the leather cuff bracelets this year with hope written on it to commemorate our present journey through foster care towards adoption. He's an amazing dad - especially to the hurting little ones who aren't even ours to call our own yet. PS. I tweeted too! @sleighs79

I love the VP and I would love to win this gift certificate!

All of us children (there is 9 of us) went in together and got my Dad a Ipod Touch!

My Husband isn't a Father yet but we are planning to adopt soon. (I am unable to have children due to Ovarian Cancer) so I got him a leather band from the VP with our future baby's name on it! :)

I had my boys paint all over a canvas for him! It was a huge mess but they are two and three and it turned out cute. I love your idea with the three photos and "I love you". That is awesome!

For Father's Day - I'm giving my dad something similar to what you've posted here! I found a frame that has 4 spots to put a photo -- I put a black & white photo in each spot ... all of the photos are of my sister & I at different ages -- showing how we've grown-up :) Our daddy has lots of photos in his office too. ;)

I have no idea what to get my husband!! Already took care of the grandpas, but I always ask my husband what he wants but he rarely can think of something to tell me! So, I plan to make a fabulous breakfast, give him some time at home without to rest and relax alone - maybe something will come to me!

My husband is getting the USA Soccer jersey - he loves soccer and it has been so hard to find but I finally found it! I just hope it gets here in time. By the way, I absolutely love my necklace that my husband got me for mother's day. You can see a picture on my blog. Thank you!

This year, I gave my husband a trip to visit his dad for Father's Day. Living all the way across the country away from his family is hard for him, especially being so close to his dad. We will spend the day at church, having a bonfire BBQ, and playing horseshoes and fishing. Just the kind of day my husband adores, with all of his favorite people!

For my dad for fathers day he wanted a car polishing kit and a belt sander. Being a carpenter is his side job and he LOVES building things so I thought it was appropriate. Of course, we had to give photos as well. My father-in-law on the other hand was more difficult. His wife told me to get him a gift certificate so he can go eat somewhere and she doesn't have to cook for him all the time. (lol) But then we get to my brother and I just had to give him the leather cuff you guys came out with....with his favorite bible verse. He LOVES it! Thanks Vintage Pearl!

My hubby is getting a hammock stand, to go with last year's hammock. (I couldn't afford them both at the same time, so he had to wait for a bit. :) He's also getting a "DAD" photo of our DD & "can't wait to meet you" card from our unborn #2, due in 4 short weeks.

The one tradition I have with Father's day so far is a homemade card with the kids hand prints on them. So, he's getting one of those (as tradition) and a homemade apple pie (his request). I also got some "I heart dad" babylegs for our youngest to wear on Father's day.

This is not sentimental b/c hubby likes practical gifts. He has been wanting a digital scale for fishing so we researched and found the best one. I know he will like it.
Thanks for the giveaway!

My hubby has been wanting to get a tattoo on each wrist, one saying "family" and the other saying "faith". I used to think that was an odd spot for a tattoo but what better way to share the 2 most important things in his life. So I made him an appt to get it done for Father's Day.

Yeah for Father's Day!!! My Dad is out of town so we will be celebrating Father's Day next weekend, which means I still have lots of time to figure out the perfect gift- whew! :) Thank you for this opportunity!

i also made a coupon for my husband to redeem at your store. he is coming out of a really difficult period in his life and i think that your leather cuff would be perfect for him. i just don't know what word he would like best....so i'm letting him decide.

i really love the pics you took of your kids with the "i <3 you" signs. might need to do that, too! :)

I'm getting the Hubs golf club covers and a gift certificate for a round of golf. Little and I also made him an "art" piece--a small canvas with her footprints all over it in different color paint. That was a really messy, but really fun project to do with an almost 4-month-old :)

Ha! (My story goes back to Mother's Day...!) My mom said she didn't want any gifts, so we got her a Little Tikes Cozy Car. You know, so she can enjoy her grandson driving around in her house! For father's day we couldn't be outdone, so he got a sand and water table for the outside patio. (We celebrated early since they are out of town this weekend!)

I was actually going to do a picture gift too. I found a neat tutorial to spray paint some wood and modpodge pictures on top of it. I thought that was more unique than the picture frame idea I came up with on my own.

I've been saving babysitting money for 6 months to secretly buy my hubby a nice digital SLR camera. He borrowed his mom's for an afternoon about a year ago and hasn't stopped talking about it. I am so excited to give it to him because it will be a huge suprise!

I would love to win this.
So far I have gotten the generic. A tie. But I ordered a milkshake maker. Not a blender but one of those malt shop makers. He loves ice cream and makes shakes ALL the time.
He would love a leather cuff. And I know he would love me getting one of your gorgeous necklaces. He is an amazing husband like that.

I just bought my husband a Husker transparent plate that hangs up (I don't know how to describe it). He loves the Huskers and we don't have enough decor stuff. :)

I would like to get him some grilling spices for his new grill though.

All he requested was a date together. What a sweet guy huh?
But I'm trying to get their footprints done at a local place so we'll see if that happens.
Happy Father's day all.
