summery busy-ness...

The kids got out of school for the summer on wednesday!

I have mixed emotions about this :) It sure is busier (and louder) with 4 little people home everyday!

But I want to do lots of fun stuff with them and we have lots planned... cookouts, swimming, picnics, camping, fishing, camps...

and we got a small pool for our backyard that the kids want to live in everyday...

I really want to have a campfire at the lake and roast hotdogs and marshmallows with the kids one night!

What is something fun you want to do this summer? Would love more ideas!

and the randomly picked and overdue winner of the Two Little Tots giveaway is: Jessica, who said: I just had a baby girl on Saturday & I can totally imagine this one messy clip:

Sounds like fun! A pool would be soooo nice (: I have been blogging about what we did last summer-I thought you might enjoy the Fruit Tree we made. You can find the post at http://thatcraftymrsv.blogspot.com/2010/05/summer-theme.html
Have a fantastic summer!

Oooh, I love summer. It's winter here in Australia at the moment, so it's best to stay inside, which isn't too bad.. but I miss swimming & icecream & the smell of sunblock. Lovely blog doll.

I like to give myself an art project every summer, as a relaxing, creative break that's a different kind of hands-on than "hands on the keyboard." I just earned my Master's degree, and rather than purchasing two very expensive degree frames, I decided that I am going to make my own this summer!

Super cute pictures....Summer is all about being busy and taking advantage of every OUNCE of sun, water and fun. Enjoy it!

Congrats Jessica, on your new baby and your Two Little Tots win. Melissa is fabulous!

We planted a garden box - can't wait to harvest peas, carrots, onions, and more with the kids!

We've got lots of camping planned - a long weekend get-away to the Black Hills and several family reunions to attend.

(congrats Jessica!)

Summertime... love this time of year! School got out on the 25th for us -- can't believe it came so soon!

...swimming, trips to the beach, Disney World (gotta love living in Flroida), fishing, tubing down the river, making homemade ice cream, eating watermelon.... fun, fun times!

p.s. Happy Memorial Day! :)

I am thinking I will make a list of all the things I would like to do with the kids, so I can check them off as we go. Campfire and all the campfire food sounds good!

My bf and I tried geocaching for the first time this weekend after seeing it on the blog! We loooove it! We will definitely be doing it more often! We were so excited!

I love summer with my boys. We do a lot of playdates at the beach, hang out at lots of different parks, we do a bonfire cookout one night every weekend, run through the sprinklers, water balloon fights, trips to my parent's cabin, bowling when it rains, trips to the zoo and children's museum. Here's to a wonderful summer for all of us!

Renting or borrowing a movie projector to have an outdoor movie night is a great summer activity! Our neighborhood has a "dive-in" event at the pool where a movie is played poolside and families swim, lounge and eat popcorn while enjoying a kid-friendly film :)
