We had our 'Spring Break' in February when we had two snowstorms within 4 days of each other that totalled about 40" of snow!! The kids got almost a whole week off from school. It was tons of fun but I'm glad spring is on the way! Thanks for the chance to win.

I wish I had something really exciting to do for spring break... since my kids aren't in school yet we don't have an "official" spring break. I am going to do some snowboarding though a few times this week. I love your stuff- so creative and cute. I have one of your necklaces with my kiddo's names on it that I wear all the time and my little baby is attracted to it like smeegle was to "the ring".

Well, my cousin is a senior in college and she isn't going anywhere this year so she's offered to come and give me some free babysitting!

So, I'm hoping to get a night out with my husband! (Without having to pay an arm and a leg for babysitting!)

I'll be hanging out with my 4 kids in France where we live as missionaries. We'll probably stay close to home as I'll be 7 months pregnant and needing to take it easy. Would love to win a gift certificate to complete the necklace I have already that a friend gave me in memory of my stillborn son. Thanks for picking me!!!

(Using my son's blog since I don't have one)My family will be venturing into creating our very own Victory garden right in our own back yard. We are planters nor do we have green thumbs. However, we felt the need to get back to basics. We import most of the food in America today and prices are skyrocketing. We felt that it would not only be healthy but also bring us closer together as a family. It will be hard work but I'm certain it will bring so many rewards to make it worth the while. For more info on victory gardens please see revivevictorygarden.org I'm new to the blogging thing and have never won anything so hope this is what you are looking for! Thanks and God bless. Buffie

Our spring break is next week but we are picking something productive and something fun for each day...like: cleaning blinds and going bowling, cleaning closets and having a picnic at the park...just to name a couple. Great motivation to get help outta the kiddos!

I've been remiss in photographing something each day for my "Project Life" goal of taking a photo each day. I'm going to use spring break to reconnect with my camera and hopefully(!) have some pretty days outside with the kiddos and the camera!

My best friend and I are going to Seattle to visit her sister. We are taking pictures of EVERYTHING and making a scrapbook for our other best friend, who is pregnant and can't travel. We even plan on photoshopping her into pictures to make her feel like she was part of the fun! All this will be part of her wedding gift - which is happening two days after we return home. Couldn't be more excited!

For our spring break, we are going to Oakland for the CA State Finals competition for Odyssey of the Mind! So excited. If I wasn't recovering from surgery, we'd go on to San Francisco and explore the Golden Gate Park.

Well, we (my 6 month old, my sweetie, and I) are heading up to my parents to show him off! Now that the winter cold is over and he's up to longer journeys! Also will get to see some very dear friends and show him off even more. Not the most adventurous, but a journey none the less! Hope I win, love the site, just ordered a few charms for my mama and would love to get one now that I'm a mama as well! :)

we are getting together with neighbors to reinact the book "mouse paint" with our own bare feet and primary colors of paint on the deck (before it gets refinshed this summer)- the kids will love the bare toes and color!

We do not have that much money this year so we are doing a "staycation" and visiting places local. We are going to the ZOO, dino museum, flower gardens, childrens museum, swimming. We might even get a hotel local for one night just for fun:)

My son and four of his college friends are heading out to California in a Yukon with 260,000 miles on it. I will probably be spending a lot of that time on my knees praying for their safety and that they won't get too crazy in all the fun!

Brooke said...

Hope you have fun with Shamu! Me and my sister are driving 15 hours to surprise my mom with our babies. My mom has only got to see them once and is always wishing she could come see them ... so we are just going to go see her and have some mommy, daughter, and grandma time :)

Well, I'm two weeks into a 7 week inpatient hospital stay (away from three little kids at home), as we await the birth of the newest additionS to our family (monoamniotic twin boys)!! So....creativity is definitely in order for the kids spring break!! I'm looking forward to extra visits from the kiddos, making st. patty's day "magic potion" at the hospital (frozen lemonade concentrate, 7Up, lime sherbert, & rainbow sprinkles!), extra snuggles and giggles, and marking another week off of my hospital stay! =) As always, love your giveaways and your generosity!!!

Peace & Blessings,

My son and I are heading to Florida on Monday for two weeks to visit my dad, otherwise known as Ga to my son. They're best buddies and haven't seen each other since Winter Break so it'll be a fun reunion for them. We're going to swim, go strawberry picking, go to the movies and see what other trouble we can get ourselves into. We're heading up to Orlando from South Florida for a few days during our second week there for my son's first trip to Disney World and all the other fun places up there. It's not super creative, but it's fun family time that we're both really looking forward to. Kindergarten has been a great year so far for my son, and it's great timing for a break and a treat for my special boy. Hope everyone else enjoys their time off!

Spring break? What is this mysterious thing you speak of?

April O. said...

Well, we homeschool so our spring break might seem different. We are going to try and see all of those little friends (and their families) who are in "regular" school, and enjoy some extra quality time with them! :)

Sometimes simple ties that bind are just as special as the big trip.

Blessings, and thank you for the opportunity!

My hubby and I are taking a trip to Venice Beach, FL! It's where we got engaged about a year and a half ago (married for just over a year now!). And get this...it will be our first night ALONE in 7 MONTHS because we live with our parents due to some interesting life circumstances. 3 nights alone in a hotel room with my husband and no one else related to us within 50 miles...*sigh*
Hope that's creative enough ;)

We will be spending our spring break watching our adorable 4 grandchildren while our daughter and son-in-law have a little "vac K". They are always so busy, it will be a nice get away for them and a special memory for us!
I am wearing a necklace right now from you that I just received last week. It is "my hands are almost as full as my heart" and it is my fav piece of jewelry because it has the names of my priceless grandkids on it. I love it!

My family and I are planning to take a road trip, Denver to Texas. My husband found a great little mexican restaurant there that we have to try. Plus we have never been to Texas. We thought it would be a fun adventure with our teenage boys.

So so so wish I was headed some where warm to enjoy spring break but I'll have to rely on my sweet little boys to bring some sunshine into my home. My six month old will easily do that with his sweet disposition and make me laugh as he is so determined to master crawling (army crawl mastered...just needs to get those legs going). And my 3 year old will easily help with his never ending energy for life and most of all his hilarious desire to sing his way through life. :)

This spring break will be one like none other I have had in my short 23 years of life. My precious nieces & nephews from Oklahoma are coming for a visit, and we will be going to visit their brother & sister to tidy up their gardensite with angel soft windchimes at Greenwood Cemetery. It's more joy than pain that we feel these days when we think of these precious babies.

Afterwards we will be making easter eggs from eggshells! I look forward to teaching them how to blow the yolk out, and we will have a contest to see who can do it the fastest and with the least amount of mess! We will then dye them probably about 50 different colors and have an early easter egg hunt (since they have to go back home on 2 weeks).

I will also be bringing my precious little boy with me when we all go to the beach, it will be my son's first trip ever to the beach, and I look forward to watching him squeeze and feel the sand beneath his 10 tiny toes.

Before our 2 weeks are done, the hubby and I and our son will visit St. Augustine, FL and walk down St. George street reminiscing about our honeymoon and how much love we have for each other.

It will be a sad day when our family has to return home and when our break is over.

Here in the Pacific Northwest its spring so that means the whales are out and you can get great views of them on shore or on local boats that do tours. So that is what our family is doing. We are going Whale Watching! We bring our jackets, binoculars and a picnic lunch to have on the beach and then we will take the boat out to hopefully get a real close look! It will be a great way to welcome spring!

I am sadly doing NOTHING for Spring Break. I had surgery and am in a cast until Apr 2. So, not spring break type fun for me.

My husband is going to take me to a book signing this weekend but that is relatively tame.

I guess this is the part where I tell you some amazing adventure we're going on...our spring break is a week away still buuuuuut, I'm pretty sure we wont be doing anything super fun.
We were going to get a beach house and stay over a couple nights at this great little beach town that has amazing outlet stores and food BUT (here's where I play my sympathy card) may parents were really struggling this month financially and we lent them a rather large some of $$ so no spring break this year...maybe spring break next month?! we'll still bring the kids to the coast...just for our own made up family spring break!
have fun at sea world...totally jealous!

I'm just finishing up my spring break! I go to school in Boston, but my friend and I decided to grab a $10 bus up to New York City for the week!!! We found a reeeeally sketchy (but REALLY CHEAP) youth hostel to stay in, where we were with people from all over the world, and basically just busted around and did everything that didn't cost money! Free museums, wandering around, visiting Chinatown...so much fun!

And did I mention that I had my 21st birthday in the middle of all that? COOLEST birthday and spring break ever! I'd love to win to top it off!!! :)

It sounds like you will have a great spring break!

We start ours next week.... I can't wait. We homeschool and do a year round schedule so our break will be two glorious weeks long.

We start our first day of spring break with my sons 6th birthday and my daughters state gymnastics competition. When we return from the weekend out of town we are having my sons birthday party and then the rest of break is for resting... just enjoying each other and maybe tackling a few projects. Nothing too exciting but much needed!

No creative entry for me, I'll just have to hope I'm the random winner. ;)

We have playdates scheduled and sleepovers and one more visit to my parents before baby comes. One of the playdates is with my college girlfriends and their kids. We have all kept in touch and now that we have kids we try to get together once a month or so. We call ourselves WOWO. People always ask what that means, and I tell them I could tell them, but then I would have to kill them. ;) We have managed to make WOWO a noun, adjective, verb, whatever we need.

Well, I am really looking forward to spring break since I'm a teacher and also have three boys of my own that I help with homework and studying tests in the evenings.

I used the word "spring" to make an acronym for my simple plans:

S - Spend extra time with my family laughing, walking to the park, playing monopoly.

P - Plant some flowers (I bought the seeds last week.)

R - Rummage through some junk to haul off in order to prepare for spring cleaning.

I - Indulge in some simple self pleasures such as an afternoon nap, reading a book, watching some home videos, blogging

N - Nibble on some of my favorite treats such as dark chocolate and one of those Reese's Peanut Butter Easter Eggs (I eat one each spring...they're my favorite...so fresh and full of delicious peanut butter. Yum!)

G - Give my hubby some extra needed attention. (Back rub, go on a date, make his favorite cookies.)

There may be a trip to Disney awaiting us too! Yay for spring break and good friends!

For Spring Break this year, we are planning to *finally* (emphasis on finally) make a decision on the backsplash for our kitchen... this is something we've needed to do for five years!! LOL

Also, we hope to take a day trip to Busch Gardens (in Tampa). :)

I also plan to force myself to actually sit down & learn more about my camera!! I am so darn lazy and don't want to actually read the manual!
