i love you { a giveaway! }

When we were at Disney in June,
we took the boat back over the water at Magic Kingdom,
probably around midnight.

I saw a dad and a son
happily signing to each other
and it sparked an idea...

a sign (i love you)...

iloveu

We tried it out a few different ways...

This necklace (above) was made for Sarah (a newbie to tvp!), and right after she put it on she went to get ice cream with her girls. The lady behind the counter was hearing impaired, and touched Sarah's necklace, admiring it, she could relate to it!

Sarah went to her car, took off her name charm, then took the rest of the necklace back to the lady, touching her to tears!

Sarah was thrilled to bless her.

We made Sarah a new one (of course!)

around the edge in lowercase plain...

this one is slightly domed in whimsy...

and we plan to offer just the "i love you" hand on a charm as well :)

*****

Let's give one away!

Leave us a comment- which one is your fave?

Blog it, tweet it @thevintagepearl, and facebook it for extra entries (please leave a separate comment for each).

We'll pick a random winner on monday.

Happy friday!

I am an interpreter for a hearing impaired child in VA. I would love to have any of the necklaces, but I really like the two charm necklace :)

I like the domed in whimsy. My neice (by marriage) is deaf, among other disabilities and I would love to give this to her mother, who is the most amazing mother to her mentally and physically disabled child. God couldn't have picked a better mother for Drea. I would give this to my sister in law who's birthday is coming up!

I can't tell you how much this would mean to me to win. No one in my family is deaf but ever since I was really little my family has used this sign to say I love you to each other. I would love to give it to my mom as a present. It would mean the world to her.

The whimsy one is the favorite :]

I love the first one - and I would love to win one FOR MY FRIEND, Sheryl. She is a sign language interpreter and her 4 year old son was diagnosed with Leukemia, going through chemo and she has been an amazing trooper. She is so strong and an amazing mother. This would make a great gift for her, to have her little boy's names on it. Precious!

Anonymous said...

I absolutely adore both of these necklaces. The meaning for me is more than you will ever know. My Aunt Karen was a Deaf interpreter for many years before she lost her battle to cancer, almost 5 years ago. My mom, sister, and I were given the "I Love You" symbol on necklaces at her celebration service( instead of a funeral we celebrated her life) to always remember her by and how much she loved us and was loved! I would love to make it even more personal and be able to include my baby girl.....hopefully we can continue the tradition!

I love the domed one. I also love the fact that you are making these! As a high school student, I'm taking a class on American Sign Language. I went to Disneyland and saw a family signing, as well. However, I think that the best part was when they saw me teaching my cousins how to sign, and we (me and the family) had a nice conversation. This necklace just reminds me of that wonderful memory.

That is such a sweet story! I had the chance to spend two weeks working at Gallaudet University for the deaf and hard of hearing. It was the most unforgettable work experience I've ever had. Oh my GOODNESS!!! I truly love them all... and would feel extremely blessed to win this necklace.

My husband and I decided to do foster care a little over a year ago. We worked hard to get our house ready and to make sure all our paperwork was in order. Finally, we were all set-up to help those kiddos in our community - we now foster two beautiful deaf girls ages 5 and 7. They mean so very much to us! I know they will not be at our house forever, but they have forever touched our hearts! Sorry if this sounds so cheesy, but knowing that we will soon have to say our goodbyes as they move on with other family members is harder than I had originally imagined it to be.

I would love to wear this necklace to help hold our memories with these girls close to my heart, and I would love to purchase two more to give to each of the girls. PLEASE say that you will sell these!!!!

.... just beautiful - THANK YOU

What a cool necklace! And I love the story of the girl giving hers away. That is wonderful!

Please-this is so precious. I used sign language with my girls as babies to help with communication. What a sweet necklace

I absolutely love the whimsy one. We are teaching our infant son sign language, he does so well with it. What a cool reminder to have around a mother's neck!
