When we were at Disney in June,
we took the boat back over the water at Magic Kingdom,
probably around midnight.
I saw a dad and a son
happily signing to each other
and it sparked an idea...
a sign (i love you)...
We tried it out a few different ways...
This necklace (above) was made for Sarah (a newbie to tvp!), and right after she put it on she went to get ice cream with her girls. The lady behind the counter was hearing impaired, and touched Sarah's necklace, admiring it, she could relate to it!
Sarah went to her car, took off her name charm, then took the rest of the necklace back to the lady, touching her to tears!
Sarah was thrilled to bless her.
We made Sarah a new one (of course!)
around the edge in lowercase plain...
this one is slightly domed in whimsy...
and we plan to offer just the "i love you" hand on a charm as well :)

Let's give one away!

I am an interpreter for a hearing impaired child in VA. I would love to have any of the necklaces, but I really like the two charm necklace :)
I like the domed in whimsy. My neice (by marriage) is deaf, among other disabilities and I would love to give this to her mother, who is the most amazing mother to her mentally and physically disabled child. God couldn't have picked a better mother for Drea. I would give this to my sister in law who's birthday is coming up!

Love the one that has the two charms... The hand alone and the names on the other. LOVE it!
Love the one that has the "hand" alone on a charm and the names on the other. I did my foreign language in college in ASL. I miss signing SOOOO much!
OMG...I totally just shed a few tears at work....in front of my boss!! I had to fess up & tell her I was reading your blog!!! Which she really loved, btw!
I love the the domed one in Whimsy font...
Such an awesome story, it goes to show that there are still great/nice people on this earth even tho it doesn't always seem that way!
I can't tell you how much this would mean to me to win. No one in my family is deaf but ever since I was really little my family has used this sign to say I love you to each other. I would love to give it to my mom as a present. It would mean the world to her.
The whimsy one is the favorite :]

How sweet is she?! My eyes filled w/tears. Wow. I wish everyone had just a tiny bit of that sweetness in them.
I like the slightly domed one. =)
what a sweet story!! Love these! Like the last whimsy one!
What a beautiful keepsake! If I could choose it would definitely be the flower one.
I like the last one!!
kortnie.tesdall@gmail.com
Just tweeted! Absolutely love your necklaces. =)
@CallyLillyCafe
What a beautiful story! How amazing it is to be a blessing to someone else!
My favorite is the "i-love-you" hand with the lowercase.
What a beautiful necklace you've created!
What a wonderful post and I love the necklace...especially the slightly domed whimsy one....thanks!
I love the first one - and I would love to win one FOR MY FRIEND, Sheryl. She is a sign language interpreter and her 4 year old son was diagnosed with Leukemia, going through chemo and she has been an amazing trooper. She is so strong and an amazing mother. This would make a great gift for her, to have her little boy's names on it. Precious!
I absolutely adore both of these necklaces. The meaning for me is more than you will ever know. My Aunt Karen was a Deaf interpreter for many years before she lost her battle to cancer, almost 5 years ago. My mom, sister, and I were given the "I Love You" symbol on necklaces at her celebration service( instead of a funeral we celebrated her life) to always remember her by and how much she loved us and was loved! I would love to make it even more personal and be able to include my baby girl.....hopefully we can continue the tradition!
the charm that is slightly domed in whimsy

I love the domed in whimsy! :) I hope I win!
So sweet! We are teaching our 4 month old this sign and my husband swears she does it back to him! I love the lowercase plain charm.
I taught my daughter to sign as well. What a beautiful touching story. I like the domed version.
I love the dome one! I teach sign language to preschoolers and would love to wear this! The "I love you" sign is one of everyone's favorite signs! What a beautiful idea!
I love those, I think my fave is the one with two charms.
My kids and I do the "I love you" sign to each other! Such a cute idea. I love the one with two seperate circles.
I love the cupped one.
Wow, that is great story! Shows your character too to hire someone so kind! I love the necklace especially with the names around it!

I love the one with the I love you sign language sign and the children's names! So cute!!!
Just posted on my FB wall! (mspencer116)
Sweet story. I like the one with 2 charms. I always use that sign with my kids!
These are fantastic! They would make such awesome gifts for so many lovely ladies in my life. I think my favorite is the slightly domed.
I like the one around thr edge in lowercase. And, I love that Sarah shared hers!
Oh my! I love that you did this! I worked with deaf students in college and I not only sign, but have the "ILY" sign as a beautiful tattoo. I like the slightly domed one, but can't wait to see the charm as well. I hope you make this into a key chain somehow!!
I LOVe the one aorund the edge in lowercase plain... L O V E it!!!
I love the necklace you made for Sara (with the 2 charms) and I love the story that goes with it!
when i was traveling to sweden I was behind a family that was hearing impaired and also on my flight. As we cross the security check in Chicago they turned with their daughter and held her up over the crowd...in unison it seemed they all signed I love you-I turned and there was grandma teary eyed signing back! I almost lost it crying right there at security. Stop making such great stuff. I want them all
I like the last one!
I love all of the designs...but my favorite is the 2nd one. My mom has always used the "i love you" sign to wave good bye to me...thanks for sharing!
I love the charm with just the sign on it- no words required. :)
I love the last one the most. The first one is really cool too. If I win ... I'm having it made for my friend who has a hearing impaired child. She would love it.
love how it looks in that second picture!
how special is this?!
The story of the lady behind the counter touched my heart. Thanks for the chance to win one. I love the domed one.
i love theone with the names around it
meandi09@yahoo.com
What a great story! Thanks for sharing.
I love the slightly domed one with the lower case letters. I have 2 friends who sign - one is a teacher at the school for the deaf and one is an interpreter for the deaf. I love to watch them. They take turns interpreting for a girl in our congregation who is deaf.
This post def. touched my heart. I would love to have the last one! :)

I love the domed one. I also love the fact that you are making these! As a high school student, I'm taking a class on American Sign Language. I went to Disneyland and saw a family signing, as well. However, I think that the best part was when they saw me teaching my cousins how to sign, and we (me and the family) had a nice conversation. This necklace just reminds me of that wonderful memory.
They are all beautiful! I like the whimsical one (the last one).
love them all
i love the last one!
i tweeted :)
i shared on FB
my 5-year old, madelyn, and i do the "i love you" sign all the time! this is sweet! the second photo (with the 2 disks) is my favorite of them all. i, do, however like the 1st design for families with more to cover on a necklace!). :-) thanks for the opportunity to win!
So sweet! I really like the one with two separate charms.
I loved the domed one or the one with the two separate charms - the sign and one the name. Of course love the pearls all around!
beautiful story!
jenpalmer3@gmail.com
I am adoring your designs! I found you 20 minutes ago and have already started planning Christmas for our moms and sisters! My husbands sister is hearing impaired and I am in love with the cupped version with whimsy!! Finding you was a little gift to myself today.
Adorable, I have a cousin who is hearing impaired and there's nothing more sweet than watching her communicate with her hands in a loving way. What a great charm!
Erin,
Good evening. The ice cream shoppe story was beautiful. I like the necklace with the two charms the best but the curved necklace is a close second.
I love them all! I think my fav is the domed one in whimsy.
Jodi
jodiyoungman@gmail.com
Love the one with two charms and the pearl, but they are all great! Good idea! I have a good friend who is an ASL interpreter and she'd love this! If I win I'll give it to her for sure!
I love the i love you sign charm, and then the seperate one with the kids names on it.it's super cute....you guys are so creative
i like around the edge in lowercase plain - naturally. :)
Such a beautiful idea! I really love the domed one!
Love, love, love this! Even if I do not win I plan on buying one for my mother-in-law for Christmas! I like the dome whimsy creation.
Love, love, love this! Even if I do not win I plan on buying one for my mother-in-law for Christmas! I like the dome whimsy creation.
Love the first one! :)
It was a toss up for me between the one with the names on the side and the slightly domed one. I think I would also love it if "love" was kind of diagonal along/under the thumb. Either way this is adorable! I LOVE it!
lydiabridgette at gmail dot com
Oh my goodness, what a sweet story! I love the last one; the domed one. My mom used to work with the deaf ministry at our church when we were younger, so we were around a lot of sign language growing up. I just love this design! Also, my 6th wedding anniversary is tomorrow, so winning this would be a great gift!! :)
I also tweeted this!
@lerraboberra
I them all...what a creative way to express Love. I think I would choose the plain I love you symbol..because I really hope to have more children and wouldnt want to have a necklace down the line that does not include them. :) Thanks for the touching story!

I love the first one because it was not only made with love but it was given away with so much love and not only blessed the mama wearing it but blessed the socks of the recipient! Amazing how God puts people into your path at just the right and can use YOU no matter what.
I LOVE them! My toddler signs, and we use this sign all the time! It is so special to us, and I would love to wear it. It's a hard choice, but I think I like the offset one.
This is a beautiful necklace that I would love to have but I would really like to win it to give to a beautiful mother that goes to our church and is hearing impaired. She has 3 children 2 of which are hearing impaired as well. I know that she would just love it.
Thank you, Lori
llstory@suddenlink.net
my kids and i do this all the time to one another, and end the night blowing a kiss to one another and signing this as i close the door to their rooms....what a great idea and a wonderful story. I am mesmerized by this beautiful language and someday would like to take classes. oh yeah back to the question (if you are still w/ me)...i would pick the domed one.
kari
Very cool! I like the domed w/ whimsy one.
They are all cute! The one with whimsy writing is my favorite.
What a neat story and a neat girl.
How absolutely lovely of Sarah to do that---that must have shown you what good taste you have in choosing employees! :) Just the thought of how it made that wonderful lady feel moved me to tears too! I like the first one w/ 2 charms also, the runner up is the lowercase plain. Great idea, great work! :) ♥, hugs & blessings!
So sweet ! We are starting to baby sign with our 4th so this sign will be used a lot :)
I like the last one best !
Have a great day
I love the one with the lower case around the bottom edge.
I like the one with the separate pearl and the separate charm for the kiddos' names...I don't have any kiddos' of my own, but if I did, then I would be able to add that name on a charm someday...
I absolutely adore this. Even if I don't win, I'll be purchasing one. The sign is something we do in our family all the time. When we wave goodbye to someone we hold the 'i love you' sign and wave. My 4 year old will only wave this way. It's by far my favorite piece. I love the domed piece with the whimsy letters!
Thank you for sharing that beautiful story.
I like the all-in-one; however, the one with two was perfect for Sarah's situation!
Once again, I am reminded that God's people are GOOD!
I love both the story behind Sarah's necklace and the design of her necklace.
So touching.... I love the last one the best!
This choked me up!! I like the rounded edges one. What a great idea!! My daughter has special needs and could only sign for a long time...so this was how I "heard" I love you long before she could say it!
The one with two charms is beautifuly - you could wear them together and separate. I absolutely love your stuff and get so many compliments on my necklace. Thank you :)
I like the whims one.
I like the last one for my mom
I love the domed one with the charm. What a great new image for your necklaces!
I love the simple lower case one. These are so great!
So hard to pick a favorite, I just love having the sign on there. Very beautiful. :)
I LOVE it! I think I like the domed one with whimsey best...or maybe the one you made for Sarah...oh, I can't decide!
~monica
I love all of them! But I think the last one is m favorite!
I love your new necklace, and the story you included really touched my heart. I think my favorite design is where there are two discs, one with the "I love you" symbol, and one with the names with pearl in between. Awesome giveaway!
I really like the one with just the sign! I would totally wear it every day!
I love the one that is slightly domed. This is a lovely idea and a blessing.
I love it!! I can't wait to have our new little one, so I can order something. I have been waiting till he/she arrives.

thanks for sharing!
laura
that is so precious of her to do that! i love the second one you made her best!
I have been teaching my three year old how to sign I LOVE YOU. I want this so badly!!
I like the one with the hand alone & the names on a separate charm
I love the slightly domed one. And what an inspiring story! If I win, it inspires me to want to give this to a friend of mine.
What a beautiful story and necklace! Love this!! :D
I love the separate charms - so special!!
this is so awesome!!
my roommate and i always used the "i love you" sign when we are saying goodnight or parting ways just for fun--it would be so great to give this to her!! I would like one with just the charm but maybe domed too :)
sweet story! i think i like the whimsy font the most.
pkeintz@gmail.com
That is such a sweet story! I had the chance to spend two weeks working at Gallaudet University for the deaf and hard of hearing. It was the most unforgettable work experience I've ever had. It is so easy to forget how important each one of our senses are to us. The "I love you" sign was one of a few signs that I learned while there. All the charms are great but my favorite is the whimsy charm.

Domed and hammered edges for sure. love that rustic look.
Oh, I love them all! I really like the whimsy font. What a touching story!
PS I tried to win on Design Mom's blog, so that was the first I'd heard of your shop and fell in love with your jewelry. Imagine my surprise to read about you in a local magazine regarding the announcement of your brick-and-mortar shop this fall!! I had no idea you were from this area and always love when local business get positive national exposure. Can't wait to peruse your wares in person. :-)
I love it! I have a brother-in-law that has a tattoo of this symbol. Very cool! I particularly like the first one because I'm a fan of asymmetry. Thanks!!!
I love the two piece one. I actually would want to win this for my sister who is a sign language interpreture. She just gave me the most amazingly, perfect gift for our new daughter who is a miracle through adoption. And I think this necklace would be the perfect gift to thank her!

funny! i emailed you guys a few months back asking if you could make a "i love you" hand, and you said that you didnt currently have one. I love this! my husband and i do this sign to eachother all the time its our thing, and since i already have his inital charm from you guys i would love to add this one to it, it would make it so special! i love the one with just the sign on it on the circle charm! If i dont win please put this on your website asap so i can order it! thanks!
i love the simplicity of the last one...but would love any of them! and what a great story and pay it forward moment!
I really love the "domed" one...and seriously...although we're not hearing impaired-the sign is one of the first "phrases" my kids learn...at 16 months it comes across as more of a "peace" sign though. :)
Oooooohhhh, these are cute!! I'm hoping to get started my first sign language classes this fall. I think it's a really beautiful language and I'd love to be fluent in it. These are all great but I think my favorite is the slightly cupped one with the whimsy letters. I just love it!!
i love that and i would love them all!
The last one is my favorite!! I love this!!! My son goes to the def education elem. school for the district, so he has learned so much sign language! I took sign for 3 years in high school, so I love it too! so sweet! Thanks for the change to win :)
I am in LOVE with this!! My fiance and I use this hand symbol to tell each other "I love you" EVERY DAY. It has become sort of our little thing that we do randomly throughout the day. My favorite is the last one, domed in whimsy.
Love, love, love this!
looking at all the different options you came up with brought me to tears! before all of my kids could talk, we taught them to sign a few words and 'i love you' was one of them! if i don't win one, i WILL be purchasing one!:)
Ok, so excited about this necklace so I wrote a blog post about it on my personal blog:
http://trafficnotes.blogspot.com/
Also, check out my website, The Seed Project, at www.seed-project.com.

sweet, sweet story...what a way to make the most of a moment! i love the around the edge in lowercase plain.
I LOVE that necklace! That is a sign we use in my family all the time, it means so much to us. My favorite is the last one of the slightly domed in whimsy
Oh gorgeous! Love these!
My favorite is the 2nd one down - the seperate charms.
Awesome giveaway :)
I think my favorite has to be the separate discs, in case I come into a circumstance like Sarah and feel the need to pass the I Love You on!
Oh my GOODNESS!!! I truly love them all... and would feel extremely blessed to win this necklace.
My husband and I decided to do foster care a little over a year ago. We worked hard to get our house ready and to make sure all our paperwork was in order. Finally, we were all set-up to help those kiddos in our community - we now foster two beautiful deaf girls ages 5 and 7. They mean so very much to us! I know they will not be at our house forever, but they have forever touched our hearts! Sorry if this sounds so cheesy, but knowing that we will soon have to say our goodbyes as they move on with other family members is harder than I had originally imagined it to be.
I would love to wear this necklace to help hold our memories with these girls close to my heart, and I would love to purchase two more to give to each of the girls. PLEASE say that you will sell these!!!!
.... just beautiful - THANK YOU
it is now on my facebook!!
What a cool necklace! And I love the story of the girl giving hers away. That is wonderful!
xoxo
