We almost made it.
We just needed about 8 more hours.
But the last night of our hotel adventure we woke up at 1:30 am to the alarm sirens and lights flashing.
Ryan and I sprang out of bed, raced to the living room where the boys were out of bed and looking scared.
We could hear Eden screaming, Ryan ran to grab her.
Tessa was still asleep!
I felt wet carpet with my toes and I looked at the front door and saw water seeping in!I opened the front door and saw that our whole hallway was flooded. I felt relieved, a flood is way better than a fire! We started throwing our stuff up on the beds to keep it dry.
And Tessa was STILL asleep! The alarms were screaming ear piercing screams the whole time. I woke her up to have her get shoes on and she just rolled over and pulled the covers back over her head! I told her alarms were going off and she finally rolled out of bed.
We grabbed the kids and evacuated.
The hot water pipe in the mechanical room (which was across the room from us) had burst, and the heat had caused the fire alarms to go off.
(sorry for the small pic, taken with Ryan's phone).
The kids and I sat in the car and watched Dora until about 3 am, Ryan gathered all of our stuff together...
...some of the stuff we failed to throw up on the beds was FLOATING by the time he went back up...
...and we headed to his parent's house for the night.
Tired, but thankful everyone was ok :)
Our cRaZiEsT hotel experience ever!

OH my gosh! I am glad everyone is OK! :)
My husband is a GM for a hotel and I can safely say this is his worst nightmare! I take that back--maybe being a father with sleeping kids in a flooding hotel is his worst nightmare, but this certainly comes in second! Glad everyone is safe. There's no place like home!
That is the craziest experience!!
WOW! Glad you all are ok.
Funny thing is, the kids will remember that forever and it will be talked about over Thanks Giving dinner for years to come, I'm sure!
We have a few of those ourselves and we laugh about them when we're all together, which made it all worth it. =)
Oh jeeze!! I'm just glad it wasn't a fire. Wow, that makes for a crazy night all the same. Sorry for your lack of sleep.
Oh my gosh!!! That is crazy!!! SO glad it wasn't anything more serious!!
BTW- my youngest daughter's name is Eden too. She'll be 2 August 15th! :)
Oh my...it's nice when staying at a hotel is an adventure...but not quite that big of an adventure!
Whew! That IS a crazy hotel experience!
Hope your "floating" things werent to badly damaged. :)
Oh my goodness! What an experience!!!
Oh wow! Not fun, especially with the kiddos in tow. Our first night down in Daytona in June, we awoke around 1 am to fire alarms blaring...fortunately we had a walk out room to the beach side! Sat outside for a good half hour or so before being told it was a false alarm, someone pulled the alarm!
Oh My Goodness! How scary to wake up like that. How awful.
Hopefully you all are recovering today from that scary adventure.
Wow! Craziness!!
So SO thankful it was water! How scary!
Oh my goodness, what a different look in that hotel hallway from the photo a few days ago. This is crazy. I'm glad you had someplace else to go for the night :-)
Blessings,
Marcia
