My mom is amazing because no matter how OCD she is with cleaning she never says a word to me about the mess my kids make in her house while we are living here...she just loves us no matter what and that makes me love her so much more!

My wonderful mom is coming over to my house today to help me organize my closet so that no one turns me into that "hoarders" show! She is great at everything but super gifted at organization. Sadly that talent was not passed on to organizationally challenged me. Happy Saturday!

My Mom is amazing, she put up with years of swim practice and trombone lessons. She put her career on hold to stay home and raise me. She has been involved in my schools, teams, and extra curricular activities my entire life. She has been there through good and bad temper tantrums and bad moods. Now that I am adult she is always there to give me advice or just lend a helping hand. I only hope I can be half the Mom that she has been.

My mother is my rock and my comfort. I am able to go to her for anything and she has supported our family through some of the roughest years we've had. Through the still birth of my younger brother, she comforted us and stood strong. Through the recent removal of tumors from my breast and brain, she held my hand and stood by me through every single operation and doctor's appointment. She is truly a remarkable woman, dedicated to serving her family and community. She is my rolemodel and I truly would be nothing without that amazing woman!

Every year as I grow older, I value my relationship with my mother more and more. The older I get, the more I understand how special she is, and how incredibly lucky I am to have the great relationship that we have together. I also see our relationship changing, as who needs more support and help changes over time. I am grateful to be allowed to know her, and continue to have her in my life.

my mom is a wonderful grandmother. she takes such a genuine interest in her grandchildren and what activities they are involved in at the time. she is a great gift giver. if i {or my kids or anyone} mentions something they like or are saving for generally it will show up in a box at some point. she spoils us rotten. i love that my mom taught us to give and serve others and she taught us how to hold it all together during stressful/crisis times. she is a rock.

My mother sacrificed everything for me, and constantly goes out of her way to help me and will give you the shirt off of her back for you. As we grow older, our bond is growing and becoming stronger. My mother in law is the best spiritual teacher that I could have, she is always there to listen and guide me in the right direction. I love you both will all my heart...to the moon and back!! xoxoxo

There are not enough words to express what a spectacular woman Lorri Buck is. She is kind. She is loving. She is the kind of mom I strive to be. She loves her kids with a love that could move mountains. And I am writing today because she loves me in a way more meaningful than I can explain. You see, Lorri Buck is not my mom. BUT, Lorri Buck IS my mom.I lost my parents when I was young. But from (practically) the moment I met Lorri, she has accepted and loved me. It didn’t matter where I came from, or what my history was. All that mattered was that Shaun loved me. That was enough for her!

Shaun and I met and started “dating” in July of 1999. By that Christmas, December of 1999, - Lorri was signing her name to my presents as “Mom.” God was so gracious in His gift of a “mom” that Christmas. I love her just like she is my mom.

I have has this wonderful GODLY woman to turn to through many of the milestones in my adult life. Getting married, having kids, loosing Riley… The list goes on. Lorri is human and does not always say the right things or do the right things, but her intentions are always pure. I am sure that ANYONE you ask would agree to that. She always tries to love.

Today I had a bit of a hard day. I went and had my nails filled. I brought the book I am reading right now - Safe in the Arms of God by John MacArthur. It is about what happens to babies when they die. I sat in the nail salon and was finding it hard to concentrate on my book, so I began to people watch. It was only about 2-3 minutes later that a mom walked in with a gorgeous little blond girl. This girl was not more than 6 years old. She had striking blue eyes that reminded me of Tyler. She had cute little curls at the end of her long hair. It looked as though her mom has never cut off those baby curls. This mom told the receptionist that the two of them would like pedicures. Then the mom called her daughter over to look at polish colors. She called her Riley.

I had to choke back the tears as they came rushing for my burning eyes! This beautiful little girl, whom I was already admiring, was named Riley. The rest of the time there, I sat and stared at this little girl. Then back at her mom. Then back to Riley. I couldn’t stop the questioning on my mind. Was my Riley a girl? Was I missing the opportunity to take my baby girl out for an afternoon of pedicures and quality time? In hind site, I probably looked creepy to this poor little girl. I couldn’t help but to stare and stare. Her mom kept giving me kind smiles each time that our eyes met. That helped more than she will ever know. I left the nail salon after giving one last glance to Riley and to her mom. I really wanted to go and to say something to her mom. Something like, don’t take any moments for granted. Or maybe even, give her lots of hugs. In my mind they all sounded dumb so I didn’t say anything. I just left the salon with two feelings. One of joy thinking about that afternoon that mom and her daughter must be having and the second feeling was of longing for that feeling with my Riley.

As the day continued, Lorri called. She said that she was just calling to tell me that she was thinking of me. I told her about my afternoon and how hard it had been. We talked and talked. As we were preparing to end our conversation, mom told me something I have never been told in my adult life. (maybe even ever!) She told me that she was proud of me. Even as I write those words, I am fighting back the tears! Mom told me all the reasons she is proud of me. All of my life I have been told that I have disappointed the various people in my life, some living and some dead. I have been told that my choices are “not what we would have chosen for you.”

I am fully aware that it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of you. The only One that matters is God. BUT, what a gift I was given today in those simple words. So I end today’s post with Proverbs 31. Although mom will never agree - In my eyes it describes her!

My mother is not longer with us, and never got a chance to meet her grandkids. I still hear her daily in my own words. It is funny how many things you repeat that your mother told you. I actually told my daughter the other day she is getting too old for her britches!! she looked at me and said " to old for my bridges?"
Amazing the effect our mothers have on us, even when they are not longer physically around!:)

My mom is awesome! She became a single mom when I was 18 months old. she worked hard at her "day" job and then at night she worked hard starting her own business. In a few years she was able to continue her dream of being home with me by having her own successful business. It was that important to her. It was also very important that I go to college so no matter what I wouldn't have to struggle with money like she did. She made it happen and I can't thank her enough.

My mom took in both of her parents. My grandfather passed on last year and we found out today that my grandmother has cancer. It won't be long for her. My mom stuck it out even though it has been difficult.

I actually came here because I saw a photo of a necklace on someone's blog and the names were Anna and Henry. My grandparent's names. The Lord always knows how to bring comfort in sad moments.
