the water well.

After reading Meg's blog and Julie's blog this morning I was inspired to help.

Right now, 1.1 billion people on the planet don't have access to safe, clean drinking water.

That's one in six of us.

I can't imagine feeding my baby with a bottle filled with muddy water... full of parasites and disease.

Or burrying my baby because she got sick from the water I gave her to drink.

We can make a difference!

I am raising money to build a well.

For $5,000 a well can be built that gives fresh, clean water to 250 people for life.

$5,000 is ALOT of money.

But if everyone that reads this blog gave just $10, we would go well over $5,000!

If you are like me, $10 won't be missed. That's like 2 starbucks coffees.

And together we could change the lives of those 250 people!

charity:water is a non profit organization.
All donations are tax deductible.
100% of the profit goes directly to clean water solutions in west africa.

Will you help me?

This is such a neat way to help people. Speaking of helping people, Pioneer Woman is bragging on you today. Wow--how cool is that!

It is so crazy how I can complain that my showerhead doesn't have enough pressure, or the pool is too cold, or the tap water doesn't taste as good as Aquafina. I have NO CLUE what it is like to live like most of the world. I love your heart Erin. I love that you listen to God and you are being His hands and feet for the nations. Thank you so very much for encouraging and challenging me.
Best,
Julie

Thank you. I needed to read your blog today to remember how lucky I am. I forget sometimes. You really helped me today.

I just made a donation, and will post a link from my blog to yours shortly. I am going to work hard to help you make a difference.

This is an amazing cause, the pictures themselves are worth a thousand words. Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention, how easily we forget & take for granted how MUCH we have in comparision to so many around the world.
I donated & am spreading the word <3

oh, erin...how real this is to me after just being in Africa last week. 1.1 billion people! it is so easy to just read over that number as a statistic. but, each one is a person...with hope, fear, joy, pain. each one with a heart that God knows intimately. and here i am with my house with 8 faucets full of clean water. thanks for being moved to action.

Our church raised money for wells a few months ago. The wells were $15,000 a piece and we raised enough for 5 wells. Truly God's hand at work!
