Ryan is out of town on business.
Yes. Again.
I have to admit it's hard for me to watch him packing up his golf clubs so he can go do "business" while I'm home with all 4 kids :P
Today was a full day of school, working (for me), kindergarten graduation tie shopping, soccer practice, webkinz fundraiser shopping, late dinner making with a tired baby... and by bedtime I was toast.
And then I lost my patience with Jonah and Tessa.
*sigh*
I felt extremely guilty... so I threw these in the oven for them...
and then apologized. And they forgave me with big chocolate-face kisses. Thank goodness children are so quick to forgive :)
Then I re-vowed for the 1,007th time to be more patient with the kids.
And now they are (finally!!!) all asleep...
*big smile*
The house is quiet... at least until tomorrow morning :)

Cookies always make things better :)
I'll be praying for you Erin...I know things can get so hectic - I think we all could use some prayer for more calm and peace in our lives right? :)
My husband is gone at least twice a week, sometimes 3 times a week because of his job and it is no fun being alone with the kids with no relief. But it's comforting to know you're not the only one out there going through it...you're right, thank goodness kids are quick to forgive...faith like a child...that's how Jesus wants us to be. :) Praying you have a better day tomorrow!
During my husband's busy season- fall and winter- he is gone before the kids get up and back after bedtime for the youngest two. It's tough, but kids are forgiving , thank goodness! :) Hang in there and you already know the chocolate heals all misery trick .:)
A webkinz fundraiser? What a great idea!
Hang in there sweetie! My husband just had surgery so I have an extra kiddo, lol, he can't drive during ball season. I bet that is a misdeameanor, lol! YES, it is in the book of Mom, when in doubt, make COOKIES! Don't waste time with guilt. It's a great lesson to kids that we aren't perfect, God is teaching Mommas too! Tabtiha :0)
I am glad to know that I am not the only mother that loses her cool and has to ask for forgiveness. My husband is a very busy youth minister. I only have one child but being a stay at home mom, while great, means that my 2 year old is with just me most of the time. I hope by me asking for his forgiveness when I do lose my cool will teach him that it is ok to not be perfect. The most important thing is that we are humble enough to admit we messed up and ask for forgiveness and just try harder the next time.
thanks for keeping it real. its refreshing to see an "honest" blog. many nights i cry while checking on my sleeping kiddos, feeling sorry about my actions that day. owning up to it means we really love them.
i feel ya, erin! matt's had to be gone quite a bit lately and it can get so lonely and frustrated at times.
can you imagine trying to do all this without faith?! whew....
I knew there was something I was missing to raising four kids...cookie apologies!!! My kids are going to be very happy campers tonight..lol.
But honestly, it is tough and patience never seems to come in large enough quantities. But every time we say sorry to our kiddos, I think it grows just that much more! Keep at it!
