pardon the mess and a winner...

Here's what we've been up to this week...

We had some water damage on the wood floors in the kitchen and back guest bathroom that are being repaired. The wood is still raw and being sanded and scraped today and then we pick out a stain- I think we're going dark!

Since we already had the wood floor guys here we decided to turn the carpeted formal dining into wood floors also... we have officially outgrown the little kitchen dinette area with Eden at the table.

And we didn't want milk spilled into the carpet.

Cuz with 4 kids there is bound to be spilled milk once or 122 times.

And milk + carpet = yucky smell.

Hence the need for wood floors in there...

We also pulled out the sink and toilet out of the back bathroom and the half-peeled (thanks to the kids) hideous wallpaper is coming down...

bathroom before pics

Hard to believe that wallpaper was ever "in".

Also hard to believe we have lived here for 3 years and it still looked like that!

So I picked out a new sink (a cute pedestal from Lowe's for $44!) and a new paint color (cuz alllll of that wall paper is coming DOWN) and Ryan picked out a toilet (he gets the exciting jobs).

I will show pics when it's all finished!

After all of those ugly pics I will leave you with a cute one, Eden got her first pedi...

And a winner...and would you believe that the random number generator picked the oh so sweet anonymous poster as the winner of the "heart and stone"??? who said:

"Wow - nothing like tooting your own horn."

...but since I doubt she will send me her address I had the random number generator pick another number and it chose:

Eryn who said...
"Love it! I would put my sons initial and birthstone. We don't have the money for Mother's Day and Father's day gifts this year so I asked not to receive anything. This would be a perfect gift to myself for my first Mother's Day. :)"

Email me Eryn!

Have a fab wednesday :)

Lowe's has a pedastal for 44 dollars? I so might go with my original thought of putting one in instead of painting the cabinet sink that's in the hall bath at the new place. I've got to check it out.
and
I LOVE dark wood floors!!

Congrats to Eryn! (and what's up w/ that rude anonymous commenter...geeze!)

Oh I know that the floors and the bathroom are going to look so good when you're finished! We have hardwood throughout our whole house (except for bathrooms/laundry room: tile) and I LOVE it! And...dark stain sounds fantistic! :)

Can't believe you found a pedestal sink for $44! That is awesome!

Dude, why'd you get rid of that wallpaper? That's purty.

;-)

And I'm laughing at the first comment chosen... How dare you post about your own products for sale - on your OWN blog. Shameless you are, Miss Erin.

I'm in love with dark stained hardwood floors right now! Great choice.

Ha! How funny about the generator choosing the mean comment! They sure did miss out. If only they'd made the choice to simply be nice...

Cute little toes! Congrats to Eryn. And can't wait to see the end results of your wood floors, they look great already!

Hmmm, wouldn't you like to toot their horn? I know you would not, but, I would! Now, before you completely give up on wallpaper, look at this bathroom of an admirer (of yours):
