*sigh*

I've been trying to lose some baby weight.

When the kids weigh themselves we always make a big deal about how big they are. Because they want to be big.

So this morning while the boys were eating breakfast I tried to sneak on our digital scale to weigh myself. I always turn away and try to keep the light up numbers hidden- I could totally see them announcing my weight to anyone and everyone if they knew it (a total nightmare!)

Jonah managed to sneak over and catch a glimpse of the numbers and then announced,

"Wow, Mommy, that's alot! You are such a big girl!"

I *think* this was meant as a compliment....

That's so funny. I'm always trying to weigh without my son seeing!
I'm new to blogging and found you...somehow. :) Just blog-jumping and ran across yours.

What a sweet compliment :)
Don't you wish we all had the innocence and perspective of our children?!?!

awww. it WAS a compliment, he looks up to you! when i was little, my mom would always say that she wanted to loose weight in her stomach, and point to it, but i had no idea it was a sensitive subject. how could i? I was like 4. Anyway, she tells me know that I used to pat her stomach and say, "Still haven't got that fat away".

I can NOT believe that I did that!!! I still apologize for it

Ah (((hugs)))Erin. You do have the ultimate excuse. And you are absolutely beautiful no matter what the scale says.

I have a 5 month old, so I'm right there with you. My nine year old says things all of the time that aren't meant to be mean but really don't make me feel any better:)

Well, I'm pregnant and my 5yr old saw me using the toilet the other day. (Can't get ANY privacy ya know!) She says, "Wow mom! You're booty's so big that it doesn't even fit on the toilet!"

It so bittersweet to be a mother, isn't it? On one side you have these beautiful blessings and on the other is the chocolate cake you couldn't resist eating while making the little blessings.

p.s. I'm doing a give away, maybe it will cheer you up..

Isn't that sweet! It's so hard to lose weight, hide your weight from your kids, try not to put yourself down, and yet still teach them to have a positive self-image. Hang in there!!

How did the Holiday Open House go?

Aw. :)

My girls always pat my tummy and say mommy's belly is so soft because we were in there. I try to think of it as a badge of honor. ;)

LOL! Kids say the darndest things! You need to hide your scale in your potty room like I do!

too funny :) When I was preggo with Sam (and afterwards) my girls always called me "BIG Momma". I "think" it was meant to be a compliment...or maybe I'm delusional :)

take a bow Jenn

Hilarious! I don't let my son see my weight for fear he will share the numbers with anyone who would listen also!
