Today is Jonah's 7th birthday!

Why does 7 seem SO MUCH OLDER than 6?

So I made him heart shaped pancakes for breakfast...



Just poured batter into a metal cookie cutter and flipped when that side was done, so easy and cute! He loved them :)



Then he opened up his present...



(oh and his hair? Ryan said he could fix it anyway he wanted on his birthday... )



and got his birthday spankin's :)



Cupcakes at school and then tonight's the party!

the biggest blessing

The boys were debating which of the two of them had been the biggest blessing to the other one.

Jonah (almost 7) insisted that HE was the biggest blessing.

Caleb (almost 9) asked why?

"Because," Jonah said, "when you weren't looking I picked up your dirty underwear and put it in the laundry hamper."

I'm working up at the studio today and then I have a coaches meeting tonight for Tessa's soccer team- boo! But the fact that it's time for the meeting just says that spring is almost here, it's almost time to play soccer again! :)

so we went.

We played hookie.

We woke up and headed to OKC.

Unfortunatley I forgot my camera AND a stroller. So we stopped at a walmart and bought a cheap umbreall stroller, but have no pictures of our day :(

Had a BLAST at the Omniplex. We pushed every button in the place, rode the tallest spiral slide in the US, played drums, watched explosions, made a flood, rode an earthquake, flew paper airplanes, raced cars... if you live near OKC I highly suggest it!

Then we picked some bricks at the Lego store.

I even managed to sneak-y buy something from the Lego store for Jonah's birthday next week.

I took a few sunset in my rearview mirror pics with my phone as we drove home...





It was a good day :)

unwind.

After a busy day (which we have had lots of lately!) our family loves to put on our pj's and snuggle up on the couch and chair and watch America's Funniest Videos... we giggle and laugh (sometimes belly laugh!) and the kids love to re-inact their favorites. It's an easy way for us to relax, laugh and unwind all together :)

How does your family unwind after a busy day?


ps. I'm seriously contemplating keeping the kids home from school tomorrow so we can all drive down to OKC and do something fun... should I do it?

Jonah's little hands spelled out love for me tonight :)

We wrapped up the show today at 5... (thank you Jessica, Jill and June Anne for keeping me company and well entertained! We all have WAY too much fun together!)...



then Ryan and I took the kids out to have breakfast for dinner at IHOP (always a fun treat!) and then we went bowling! We went bowling last year on Valentine's Day, this may become a tradition :)

June Anne, one of the AMAZING women that work with me, also breeds bulldogs. Today she brought her newest little brood to the studio!

They're just 7 days old, their eyes aren't even open yet!









Aren't they so sweet?

Tessa came up to the studio for a bit today and got to hold and pet them, and of course she begged me to keep one. I explained that Miss June Anne sells them, do you have $2,000 to pay for one?

Tessa says no.

I tell her that I don't either.

Tessa replies, "just use your credit card."

You know, that magical card that moms swipe at the checkout line and then they get to take the stuff home! Who needs money?

Jill and I flew home on sunday...


We went from Tulsa down to Houston then back up to Nashville... the from Nashville down to Houston and back up to Tulsa...


we had magazines to keep us company...


and cranberry juice...


and were so happy to see Tulsa land again!!!



Ryan left Blissdom on Friday to come home to our kids, leaving Jill and I to fend for ourselves. We had quite the adventure. We became roomies, felt like college again!

Unfortunately I had a pretty good head cold the ENTIRE trip, so poor Jill had to listen to me snore both nights! (sorry Jill!!!)

Friday night Jill asked if she should set her alarm, and I said nah, the first session doesn't start until 10 am and I just don't sleep past 8 am anymore, we'll have plenty of time to get ready. Saturday morning I woke up and look at the clock. 10:12. Stink! We missed the first session!!! BUT, we are both busy moms of 4 kids, we obvioulsy needed the sleep :)

Ryan asked me the highlight of the trip and I didn't have an answer, but after thinking about it I would say getting to meet and be inspired by so many women who have accomplished success... whether it's their blog or what they sell, they all have an amazing and unique story to tell! I think everyone there is on the same journey, we are just in different stages of the journey... some ahead of us and some behind us. I know we were touched by many ahead of us and hope maybe we were able to inspire a few behind us :)

We met alot of great women.

We networked.

We ate alot of great food.

We wore cute shoes.

We took a pic with Harry and saw him kiss a paper doll.

We walked alot. (massively HUGE hotel)

We had alot of fun!

We left inspired.

We are happy to be home with our families :)

Ryan and I had a nice dinner Thursday night for our anniversary and the waitress brought us a special dessert!



The hotel we are staying at is AMAZING! It's huge and like a little city!



Jill came with me- Jill does all of our shipping along with other things- she is a HUGE blessing to me :)

And then there was Harry...!!!

10 years and blissdom.

Ten years ago I walked down the aisle, barefoot, with red toe nails, and said "i do" to my best friend. What a journey it has been! I can't help but think that those 2 young kids in the picture up there have no idea what they are getting ready to embark on! We are pretty opposite, which is probably why it works :)

gray is the new black.

I went shopping today, looking for a new purse.

Bags are my "weakness", I heart them and have way too many! Last spring I coveted a yellow boho bag, then a dark orange one for summer, them plum for fall. I thought I was looking for black today until I saw this one at Target... it called to me.



It's simple and the perfect size for me. Love the side pockets for my phone and sunglasses!

I have never had a silver bag before... I love it, but thought it needed "something". I first thought of a scarf, but I don't have one small enough.

* side note- does anyone sell small scarves to add to your bag? Please let me know if you know of a good place that makes them (preferably handmade!) *

So then I remembered that Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy had sent me a surprise pack of her posey pins- perfect!



Isn't it cute? You can put the pins on your shirt, a jacket or a bag! Would be cute on a camera strap too!

Eden has been a bit under the weather this weekend, she has her first ear infection. Got her some meds yesterday and she's starting to perk up- it's so hard when little ones aren't feeling well! But she's been very cuddly, which I love :)
