I think I know...

what Eden will be for halloween this year...



We had the opportunity to take pics for DanburyLane, their tutus, wings, hair flowers and wands are beautiful!



We don't do the typical halloween dressup as witches and goblins and trick or treat, it's just not our thing. We take the kids to our church for dressup (in cute costumes) for a night of games and candy :)

This outfit will be perfect...



Eden loved it so much that when it was time to take it off (we had to go somewhere and tutus and wings just don't fit well in a car seat!) she. was. not. happy.

And when we came home she found the tutu and brought it to me me to put it back on!

I'm taking a break from enameling but still have all of these adorable copper bird charms and today I wondered "what should I do with these?"

This is what first came to my mind and I love it, it's so simple yet meaningful!

"A beautiful copper bird charm (about 1 inch across) is hung on a sterling silver chain. Keep it simple or get creative and stamp "mama" or "mommy" or any one word up to 6 letters across the bird. A single freshwater pearl "egg" for each child dangles next to the bird."

football.

It's that time again... we spent the day at football scrimmages.

30 minute drive there, 2 hours for Jonah's scrimmage, a 1 hour break then 2 hours for Caleb's game, then the drive home. long day.

Jonah is the "center" on his team. To me that means the kid that hikes the ball.



Caleb is bottom right, the "defensive end". To me that means the kid that stands up.



You know the kid out on the field that dances around like no one is watching?

that's Caleb.



Caleb and his buddy Tramon have the same gap in the teeth, missing the same tooth! Not sure why this humors me so, but it does.

I think it will be fun to have this pic to show them when they are "cool" in high school :)



Jonah is little, probaly close if not the smallest on his team...





but he's feisty...

Eden wore the cheer outfit that Aunt Jen made for Tessa a couple of years ago. It's a little big but still so cute... and boy does Eden love her grandpa!



Ryan got Eden to snooze...



We came home and I laid down for a quick nap and woke up 6 HOURS later. Is that still considered a nap?

I woke up to a quiet house... Ryan had fed the kids, put them to bed, cleaned out my 4 (yes 4!) junk drawers, organized the pantry and mowed the yard!

So now I'm wide awake, at 10:30 at night :)

I also sat with my right side to the sun a little too long, so I have a red/tanned right arm and a normal left arm... nice.

they're home from school!!!

I think Eden misses her brothers and sister during the day time, she runs and squeals and tackles them when they get home :)

For months now I have randomly found toys, pacis, baby dolls in here... today it was her sippy cup...



which didn't quite fit... but she left it there anyway.

This was such a big step and a leap of faith for us... we are praying for amazing results :)

school is in.

the first day of school...


Just because of the way the morning went I was only able to get pics of Jonah and Tessa at their desks on the first day... getting 3 kids ready for school takes longer than just 2 kids... amazing revelation, I know.

Especially since the new kid getting ready is a girl who needs her hair fixed. She's really loving braids right now.

So here they are, SECOND morning before school (I packed lunches and snacks and laid out clothes the night before so I would have time for pics. And let me just mention that I LOVE uniforms, it's SO EASY!!!)


Tessa Grace, age 4 1/2, kindergarten...


Jonah, age 6, 1st grade...


Caleb, age 8, 3rd grade...


Amazingly, no tears were shed, by me or Tessa :)

She sat right down and got to work on her color sheet.

And she whispered to Ryan "Daddy, I get to have homework!" She's so excited to have homework.



Eden and I will be tackling laundry (I have a MOUND of clean clothes in my living room that is REFUSING to fold itself!) and then taking a walk, and enjoying our quiet time :)

it's just us.

Caleb is off to 3rd grade.
Jonah is off to 1st grade.
Tessa is off to kindergarten.

It's just me and Eden now :)

It's going to be harder (on me!) than I had thought...
