Ryan is having a hard time with how fast Eden is growing up. (and trying really hard to convince me we should have another baby.)
I'm having a hard time with this guy seeming so grown up...
Caleb is 8, going on 30, I think he seems a little older each day...
it's fun, yet sad...
he still likes to snuggle at night... and he still calls me "mommy"... but I know that one day he won't...
he's into sports, playing them and watching them on tv, starting to know what players are on which teams... he has opinions, he debates with us, and quite honestly comes up with some really good points at times...
and he stays up at night reading... right now he's reading the chronicles of narnia...
I love the boy he's becoming but it's so hard to let go of the "baby".

they're perfect...
We absolutely LOVE our new floors, aren't they pretty?
In the formal dining (behind Eden) they did a scrape and a bevel, making it look rustic and the planks really stand out. Then in the kitchen (in front of Eden) it's just smooth wood floors. We went with "antique brown" color and could not be happier!
If you live in the Tulsa area and need wood floors, call James at...

pardon the mess and a winner...
Here's what we've been up to this week...
We had some water damage on the wood floors in the kitchen and back guest bathroom that are being repaired. The wood is still raw and being sanded and scraped today and then we pick out a stain- I think we're going dark!
Since we already had the wood floor guys here we decided to turn the carpeted formal dining into wood floors also... we have officially outgrown the little kitchen dinette area with Eden at the table.
And we didn't want milk spilled into the carpet.
Cuz with 4 kids there is bound to be spilled milk once or 122 times.
And milk + carpet = yucky smell.
Hence the need for wood floors in there...
We also pulled out the sink and toilet out of the back bathroom and the half-peeled (thanks to the kids) hideous wallpaper is coming down...
Hard to believe that wallpaper was ever "in".
Also hard to believe we have lived here for 3 years and it still looked like that!
So I picked out a new sink (a cute pedestal from Lowe's for $44!) and a new paint color (cuz alllll of that wall paper is coming DOWN) and Ryan picked out a toilet (he gets the exciting jobs).
I will show pics when it's all finished!
After all of those ugly pics I will leave you with a cute one, Eden got her first pedi...
And a winner...and would you believe that the random number generator picked the oh so sweet anonymous poster as the winner of the "heart and stone"??? who said:
Anonymous said...
"Wow - nothing like tooting your own horn."
...but since I doubt she will send me her address I had the random number generator pick another number and it chose:
Eryn who said...
"Love it! I would put my sons initial and birthstone. We don't have the money for Mother's Day and Father's day gifts this year so I asked not to receive anything. This would be a perfect gift to myself for my first Mother's Day. :)"
Email me Eryn!
Have a fab wednesday :)

heart and stone... win one!
Fun for a monday morning!
I think this is my new favorite necklace :)
A copper disc with a sterling heart fused on top. Handstamped any initial and a sparkling crystal of your choice is attached to the heart, the perfect touch!
Polished and brushed to a rustic matte finish and hung on a sterling chain.
It's so versatile---
...perfect for a Mom... initial and birthstone of her child. (add more charms for just $15!)
...perfect for a wife (great gift for a new bride!)... last name initial and stone of the month she is married.
...perfect for a teen, tween, college age or any woman... her initial and birthstone.
Find it here in the shop.
I love this necklace so much... let's give one away!
Just leave a comment saying how you would use this necklace and a random winner will be picked!
Hope you have a great Monday!

just became a little "cooler"...
We love Air 1.
We listen to it ALOT- at home and in the car. They are doing their pledge drive and I pledged on behalf of my business a couple of days ago.
Because we love Air 1 :)
So this morning I'm helping Caleb brush his hair in the kitchen, the radio is on (Air 1, of course) but we're not really paying attention until we hear the dj say "the vintage pearl". We both froze, locked eyes and our jaws dropped to our feet as he is talking about my business.
On the air.
We stay frozen staring at each other til the dj is done talking and starts a song and I ask Caleb "did he really say "the vintage pearl?" "
Caleb: "Yes... Mom that is so cool. You're gonna get like thousands of orders today."
gulp.
So we get in the car and we're driving to school and they say it again: "Erin of the vintage pearl from Oklahoma yada yada yada" basically using my pledge to help inspire others, and Caleb just grins at me and says:
"That is so cool. I'm gonna tell my teacher."
Which is a huge compliment from an 8 year old boy :)
Thank you Air 1, for great music, and for making me "cool".

single parenting...
Ryan is out of town on business.
Yes. Again.
I have to admit it's hard for me to watch him packing up his golf clubs so he can go do "business" while I'm home with all 4 kids :P
Today was a full day of school, working (for me), kindergarten graduation tie shopping, soccer practice, webkinz fundraiser shopping, late dinner making with a tired baby... and by bedtime I was toast.
And then I lost my patience with Jonah and Tessa.
*sigh*
I felt extremely guilty... so I threw these in the oven for them...
and then apologized. And they forgave me with big chocolate-face kisses. Thank goodness children are so quick to forgive :)
Then I re-vowed for the 1,007th time to be more patient with the kids.
And now they are (finally!!!) all asleep...
*big smile*
The house is quiet... at least until tomorrow morning :)
