shiny happy places...

The boys are back in school today!

What a week it has been with all 4 kids home, especially since we have been cooped up most of the time. Ryan took them out sledding one night, he's such a good Dad :) They bundled up about once a day and went out for 45 minutes or so, and then came in to drink hot chocolate. We have played lots of video games, watched lots of movies, eaten lots of popcorn... basically just vegged out for a few days :)

I did manage to squeeze in a bit of jewelry making during rest times, but it was HARD!

I also managed to catch the cold that has been circulating our house.

One of my girlfriends called last night, she has 4 kids who have been home all week also, and she says, "I need to get out of the house, wanna see a movie?" So we saw "Bride Wars" last night, very cute :) See it with a girlfriend, not a guy!

Plus we got to miss bedtime, came home to sleeping kids, mega bonus!

This morning we woke up to this...



so the kids are home as the streets are ice and we made this...



and after Eden's naptime (which I am sure was cut short because Jonah and Tessa are always sneaking into her room)I found this going on...



they were telling her stories and playing games...

my lil dancer...

This morning was Tessa's first session of her ballet/tap class.

She was thrilled. Giddy. Excited.

So was I.

We were running late, but after we drove away from home I realized I had forgotten my 50mm lens, my camera still adorned the 300mm from Caleb's bball game.

So we went back for the lens, making us even later, but this was, after all, her FIRST day of dance and it MUST be documented properly!

So we finally get there, buy and put on the outfit, I sit down to watch (with a very squirmy Eden in my arms), turn on my camera and I. forgot. the. memory. card. It was sitting in the card reader at home.

For about 5 seconds I wanted to throw myself on the floor and have a tantrum, I was so diappointed.

*sigh*

But I refrained.

Thankfully Ryan had BEGGED me to take his camera so I could take a small video clip, which I totally forgot to do, but I was able to snap a couple of pics with HIS camera. They are not what I was hoping for, but at least I got something.

I edited them the best I could...(yes, Ryan, I know I'm a picture snob now.)

It was so precious watching her dance, she had no idea what she was doing but she gave it her all.

Nestled in between fall football season and spring soccer is basketball season :)

Ryan hearts basketball, it's always been "his sport". This is the second year he has helped coach Caleb's team and he loves it!

I'm patiently waiting for soccer season to start (MY sport), but basketball will suffice for now...

Wouldn't you know that I would get sick right before our trip? I've been trying to stay positive and confess that I am healed, but I can barely talk, my throat hurts and my lower back really hurts. Makes it hard to get everything ready when I can barely bend over! So we may be heading to the doc today, in case there is some miracle pill they can give me. But a doctor's office with the 2 girls is not exactly easy, not sure I'm up for it today.

My voice is worse today, yesterday is was just raspy and Jonah tells me "you sound like Hannah Montana!" lol

So I'm hobbling around and can't talk, any doctors out there that can diagnose me?

I made a necklace yesterday to match a friend's outfit, I wanted it to look lke the butterfly was flying. In person it looks really cute, but then I went to edit the pics and all I could see was a butterfly that was poo-ing!!!



So that necklace has been scratched. Tessa likes it so I will let her wear it around the house :)

dedication

Last night we had the girls dedicated at our church...



these pics were taken right before while waiting for our turn.

The dress that Eden is wearing was the first dress Ryan ever bought for Tessa, I think he bought it before she was born and it was her Easter dress that year. It was one of the few things of Tessa's that I kept (I thought she was our last baby and gave her stuff away!) And now Eden can wear it!

the blahs...

I'm having a case of the "Christmas is over" blahs.

Maybe because we have had so much fun with Daddy home...



This week we get back to reality, no longer on vacation mode.

I've been doing a bit of "shopping therapy" on eBay to help me cope, buying the girls some spring clothes, which has helped a bit :)
